Pirate History

Blackbeard
Blackbeard is the most famous and notorious pirate in the history of seafaring.
With lit fuses in his beard and pistols strapped to his chest, he would strike terror into the hearts of his victims.
The sight of Blackbeard was enough to make his victims surrender without a fight.
Edward Teach as he was known originated from Bristol, England and began pirating sometime after 1713 in the Carribean.
Blackbeards reign of terror ended when he was tracked down to Ocracke Inlet, North Carolina by Lieutenant Maynard of the Royal Navy and was killed in a brief but bloody battle on November 22 1718.
Blackbeards ship The Queen Anne's Revenge is currently being excavated. To find out more click on the links below
